From Formosa Plastics to INTEPLAST TAIWAN: Building Manufacturing Excellence
INTEPLAST TAIWAN CORPORATION traces its manufacturing roots back to Formosa Plastics’ Plastic Processing Division. In 1983, the division began producing shopping bags at Formosa Plastics’ Qianzhen Plant in Kaohsiung. In 1984, produce bags and garbage bags were added to the product line, laying the foundation for the company’s bag manufacturing expertise.
In 1989, the Xingang facility in Chiayi underwent site preparation and expansion. In 1991, the facility began production and introduced a fully automated material mixing and conveying system. As market demand grew and production capabilities advanced, the product line continued to expand.
In 2004, the Qianzhen facility in Kaohsiung was relocated and consolidated with the Xingang facility, establishing Xingang as the company’s primary production base. In 2008, the company reorganized its global product portfolio, focusing manufacturing resources on products with strong technological and quality advantages.
In 2014, Formosa Plastics’ Plastic Processing Division was reorganized to establish INTEPLAST TAIWAN CORPORATION. Building on its manufacturing experience, INTEPLAST TAIWAN combined local expertise with INTEPLAST GROUP’s global technology and operational capabilities, marking a new chapter in the company’s manufacturing journey.
In 2015, INTEPLAST TAIWAN CORPORATION established its Vietnam operation, expanding its overseas manufacturing footprint. By combining the capabilities of its Taiwan and Vietnam facilities with INTEPLAST GROUP’s global resources and technical expertise, the company strengthened its production capacity and ability to serve international markets.
